It has been said that Solomon was the wisest man who ever lived. Long before Socrates penned the quote above, Solomon said, “As a man thinks in his heart, so he is.”
Most wise men would agree with these two: mindset is everything.
When I was in high school, I was involved in Track and Field. I was a high jumper. I learned very early in my training that you can psych yourself out during a meet and not do well. Or you can psych yourself up and do better than you expected. You could also psych out your competitors so they could not perform well. Once I learned that tactic, I used it every single time.
They usually started the height of the bar at 4’2″. Most girls could jump that. Then they would raise the bar by 2 inches. About 75% of the girls could jump that. Another 2 inches and the competition was half what had started. Even my first year, when I wasn’t all that great at jumping, I would pass my turn until the height got to 4’6″ or 4’8″. That communicated confidence to the others.
Even when my highest jump was just 4’8″, I wouldn’t start until 4’6″. Everyone assumed that I must be really good at it or I wouldn’t be passing my turn. This shook their confidence and they did not perform as well. Most would not be able to jump 4’8″ because they didn’t think they could compete against me. I would jump 4’8″ and easily win.
Later, when I was jumping over 5 feet, I wouldn’t start until 4’8″ or 4’10”. I had virtually no competition at that point.
It was all about mindset – mine and my competitors.
As you start out in internet marketing, you may feel that you don’t really know anything. I can give you the resources to put you ahead of your competitors. Even if you are just getting started, your mindset is of upmost importance. Do you think you can succeed? If you don’t, you won’t. It is that simple.
But if you believe that you can succeed, you will.
